Hassan was born on the 5th of June 1991, and from a young age was keen on athletics. He won many events for sprinting and long distance running, golf and Tennis. He completed his Edexcel O Level and Advanced Level in the field of Commerce.
Graduated from British School being Prefect, Tennis Captain and Student Council. Also won an Award for best long distance athlete.
Attended University of Melbourne and Ormond College. Also won the Global Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence.
Captained the University Tennis Team and also ran his first Marathon - The Melbourne Marathon
Completed his first Half Marathon, Olympic distance triathlon and spring distance triathlon
Became an IRONMAN by completing the Full distance IRONMAN(3.86 km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run). Also completed another Olympic distance triathlon and an IRONMAN70.3 (Half Ironman)
Successfully Completed the Stockholm Marathon and Colombo Marathon.
Formally announced goal to become First Sri Lankan in history to run a marathon on all seven continents. Successfully completed the world famous Boston Marathon
Hassan Esufally (born June 05, 1991) is a Sri Lankan marathoner who has represented his country at numerous international competitions.
He was educated at the British School in Colombo and graduated in 2011. He had the distinction of being a Prefect, the Tennis Captain and a Student Council member at the British School. He subsequently continued his education at the University of Melbourne in 2012, where he attended the prestigious Ormond College, and graduated with a double major in Management and Marketing. He was also awarded Global Scholarship award winner for Academic Excellence by the University of Melbourne.
Hassan finished the world’s most difficult sporting event the IRONMAN®. The full distance IRONMAN is a 3.86 km swim, a 180 km bike, and a 42.2 km full marathon run with a 17 hour limit in total and demanding individual time cut offs for the swim, the bike and the run as well. Finisher’s earn the honour of becoming an IRONMAN® and being titled an IRONMAN® for the rest of their life!
His next goals are to complete the World Marathon Majors, climb Mount Everest, accomplish the adventurer's grand slam, and travel to every country in the world. He is already registered to take part in the Berlin, New York, and London Marathons in the next two years.
